Dear Cullen College Faculty and Staff,

While many of us remain without power and internet, emerging reports appear to indicate that rapid progress is being made to ameliorate this situation.

Some of you are understandably concerned about the logistics of the summer session(s) and orientation activities. The ongoing summer sessions will be extended by two days. These and other related details will be addressed shortly by UH Academic Affairs. Please be on the look-out for the pertinent communications.

The university is closed today and Friday to complete restoration efforts and clean-up. Your safety is our top priority, and there is no expectation for any employee to be on campus and perform work. I will repeat that for those seeking relief from the heat, the engineering buildings have power and internet. Feel free to access your offices or common areas as cooling shelters; if it is safe and necessary for you to do so. Some building doors may be locked, so you will need a UHID to swipe and enter.
