Dear Engineering Faculty,

Please see the message below and respond ASAP before JUNE 26 (Wednesday) by emailing me the requested materials with a copy to your department chair.

Make sure that you are really going to attend to avoid your department incurring pass through charges if you cancel.

Best regards
Hanadi

"Dear Colleagues:

McAllister & Quinn alerted us to the Military Health System Research Symposium (MHSRS), which is the Department of Defense’s premier scientific meeting for scientific knowledge from military-unique medical research and development. The meeting takes place in Orlando, FL from Monday August
19 to Thursday, August 22. The total cost of attending the conference will be between $1,500 and $1,800.

This is an excellent opportunity for faculty to learn about unique medical needs of warfighters and meet program managers from the DOD. M&Q offered to introduce our faculty to relevant DOD program managers.

DOR is offering to provide 75% of funding for 3-4 faculty going to this conference with 25% provided by their college (you decide whether the college, the department, or the faculty should pay the 25%). Please ask interested faculty to send you a brief statement of why this would be beneficial to them (max 250 words), their NIH or NSF biosketch, and current and past funding during the past five years if interested.

To minimize the risk of last minute cancellation, if faculty who agreed to attend fail to go, DOR will not reimburse colleges for the 75% of the cost of attendance."
