Dear Engineering Faculty,

Please reply before TUESDAY JUNE 18 if you have need or interest in Cryo-EM. DOR sent the message shown below and if there is sufficient need and interest, UH will join.

"UH is a member of the Gulf Coast Consortia in Quantitative Biomedical Sciences. One of the benefits of being a member is that we have access to shared cores, including sharing our own major equipment with other members.

UT Health recently bought a state-of-the-art Cryo-EM. This is for 3D analysis of molecular and cellular structures with near-atomic resolution. UT Health is currently exploring what level of interest there is among consortia members to pay an annual membership fee to use the Cryo-EM at a 50% rate reduction for 750 hours of use. Their proposed fee would be $50,000 annually."
