Materials Hub Funding Opportunity Soon; April 3 Workshop/Webinar Scheduled
Good afternoon! Acting Assistant Secretary for Energy Efficiency and
Renewable Energy (EERE) Henry Kelly indicated this week that the Department
of Energy (DOE) plans to issue the funding opportunity announcement (FOA)
for the new Critical Materials Energy Innovation Hub (Hub) in about one
month. Congress provided $20 million in initial funding for the Critical
Materials Hub in the FY 2012 Consolidated Appropriations Act. The Hub is
expected to be funded up to $122 million over five years.****

In preparation for finalizing the FOA, DOE’s Office of Advanced
Manufacturing will host a workshop in the Washington, D.C. area next
Tuesday, April 3. DOE will also host a web-based overview session from
9:00 a.m. to 10:35 a.m. EDT, on April 3 for those unable to attend the
workshop. To reserve a webinar seat, please go to: ****

DOE is also offering an opportunity for the public to submit comments
related to the workshop until Friday, April 7. Those comments can be
