Good afternoon,

On behalf of the American Institute of Architecture Students and the University of Houston College of Architecture I would like to extend an invitation to the Cullen College of Engineering for a Lecture followed by a social gathering we are throwing with Hines. Part of the lecture will be presented by James Gronek of WSP Flack + Kurtz Engineering. We would be honored to have students and facility from the Cullen College of Engineering attend.

About the event
This event will be hosted by the American Institute of Architecture Students with the intent of creating a professional networking event for students with local architects. The event will take place in the College of Architecture Atrium starting promptly at 6:00pm on Monday, October 28, 2013<x-apple-data-detectors://0>. The event will consist of a lecture and followed by a short social gathering of those who attended the lecture.

About the lecture
The building of discussion is a "13-story, 415,000-square-foot building under construction at La Jolla Commons in San Diego, which will become the nation's largest carbon-neutral office building to date." "The building design incorporates a highly efficient under-floor air system, advanced curtain wall materials and many other features that reduce the energy required to operate the building. The fuel cells, acquired from Bloom Energy, will generate approximately 5.0 million KWh of electricity annually, which is above what the building will consume."
