[UH-PROMES] BP Ultimate Field Trip Challenge

Students, an invitation from BP:

BP is soliciting students to participate in our Ultimate Field Trip case study and a chance to compete against other students nationally & internationally.   I have attached general information about Ultimate Field Trip and the website  www.bp.com/UFT/US<http://www.bp.com/UFT/US>

Who should participate?

*             It is a team-based competition for undergraduates studying business, science, technology, engineering and mathematics subjects.
*             Students form teams of 3 to tackle a real-life energy challenge.
*             We recommend a mixture of majors and class levels but there are no specific requirements to the makeup of the team.
*             BP looks for a high level of rigor in submissions. Individuals/Teams who apply should be willing to prove that their ideas are practical, scalable, workable and financially viable.

The problem:

*         Energy companies consume large amounts of energy in running their operations.


The challenge:

*         More efficient use of energy.

*         Identify an innovative solution that will significantly reduce energy consumption and be   implemented by 2025, with the potential to scale across the energy industry. This could apply anywhere from point of capture to point of sale of energy products, and potentially even create a new product stream.

Note:  Deadline to apply is November 1, 2013.
