Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) 2013 - Deadline Friday, March 22
The Office of Undergraduate Research is now accepting applications for the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF-UH) program. The SURF-UH program awards $3500 stipends to students interested in conducting a full-time, 10 week summer research project in any field under the mentorship of a UH faculty mentor. The student first secures the research project with the faculty member, and then the student and faculty member apply for the program collaboratively online.

All continuing UH undergraduates with at least a 3.0 gpa who have not previously participated in the SURF-UH program (and are not graduating in spring 2013 or summer 2013) are eligible to apply. The deadline for the SURF program is Friday, March 22nd. Spring Academic Showcase 2013 - Deadline to Present Monday, March 18
The Office of Undergraduate Research and The Honors College jointly invite UH undergraduates to participate in the Spring Academic Showcase 2013: Celebrating Undergraduate Research and Achievement on Thursday, April 11, 2013 at the Rockwell Pavilion and the Honors College. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the achievements of UH students, and the event is open to all undergraduates from any major at the University.

Undergraduate students are invited to submit abstracts for presenting a poster, orally presenting a paper, or presenting a project based on original research, a study abroad, a leadership activity, or creative work that they have conducted within the last year. Application forms should be submitted by Monday, March 18th at 5 p.m. to the Office of Undergraduate Research. Provost's Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PURS) - Deadline Wednesday, April 24
Save the date for the Provost's Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PURS) program for fall 2013. The deadline is Wednesday, April 24th.  All full-time juniors and seniors who have not previously participated in the PURS program with at least a 3.0 gpa are eligible to apply for this part-time semester research opportunity which awards a $1000 scholarship.
