The SURF-UH program awards $3500 stipends to students interested in conducting a full-time, 10 week summer research project in any field under the mentorship of a UH faculty mentor. The student first secures the research project with the faculty member, and then the student and faculty member apply for the program collaboratively online.<br><br>All continuing UH undergraduates with at least a 3.0 gpa who have not previously participated in the SURF-UH program (and are not graduating in spring 2013 or summer 2013) are eligible to apply. The deadline for the SURF program is Friday, March 22nd. The purpose of the event is to celebrate the achievements of UH students, and the event is open to all undergraduates from any major at the University.<br><br>Undergraduate students are invited to submit abstracts for presenting a poster, orally presenting a paper, or presenting a project based on original research, a study abroad, a leadership activity, or creative work that they have conducted within the last year. Application forms should be submitted by Monday, March 18th at 5 p.m. to the Office of Undergraduate Research.
