I hope this message finds you safe and warm. The greater Houston community has been faced with significant adversity these last several days, including extended power and water outages. Hopefully the worst is behind us, but unfortunately at this time we are being told to brace for continued challenges for the next few days.

As of now, the University remains closed through Thursday, Feb. 18. Please continue to check for additional UH Alerts as things progress. While we continue to ride out the remainder of this winter storm, I ask that you all be compassionate. Faculty have been advised to adjust deadlines and assignments for the time being. Right now, safety is paramount, so please take care and focus on what you need to do to get through the rest of this week. Stay safe, and we will continue to keep you updated on any developments.
