Dear Colleagues,
While we hope that there are no major issues next week with internet connectivity or capacity constraints with platforms such as Zoom, there is one backup plan worth considering and trying out.
Which is to use a quiet time and place to record your lectures offline (in 10-minute chunks, preferably) and then deploy these pre-recorded lecture segments via OneDrive and Blackboard to your students. Doing it this way will give your students asynchronous access to your lectures (i.e., watch on-demand), and you can use a live Zoom session to do recitation and problem-solving.
I myself plan to record several lectures like this tomorrow and over the weekend.
Towards this purpose, this is a reminder again that one of my favorite tools for such offline recording of lectures is the Snagit software. And this software is now free to download and use until the end of June:

Please stay safe and let us win the next week!
Best regards,
JR
