Good afternoon,



The Engineering Computing Virtual Computer Lab is a platform that enables Engineering students to remotely access specialized software from any computer (both PC and MAC) from anywhere. Our Virtual Lab features Windows based virtual desktops with many Engineering software packages that are currently installed in the ECC.



The virtual lab is available via VMWare Horizon Client Software and web browser.



Horizon Client Software


Web Browser


*         Best possible connection stability

*         Save files directly to your computer or USB device

*         Requires installation of software


*         No need to install additional software

*         Some minor issues can occur based on connection stability

*         No USB access or shared folder save functionality


*         Install Horizon Client on your local machine.

o    Installer Download<https://www.vmware.com/go/viewclients>

*         Open the software and select "Add Server".

*         Enter "https://eccvlab.egr.uh.edu/" as the Connection Server name.

*         Enter your Cougarnet username and password.

*         Click on the "Win 7 K1 Desktop" or "Win 7 K2 Desktop" icon to start the session.


*         In any web browser, navigate to https://eccvlab.egr.uh.edu<https://eccvlab.egr.uh.edu/>.

*         Enter your Cougarnet username and password.

*         Click on the "Win 7 K1 Desktop" or "Win 7 K2 Desktop" icon to start the session.
