As part of the testing and repair of TR1 transformer at the Cougar Substation, UH Electrical and contractors will be isolating the safety control circuits to the breakers that caused the loss of power to campus last week. This will take place on Friday, June 21, 2019 from 5:00AM – 6:00AM.
No impact to campus is anticipated, however, this procedure is highly complex. There is some unexpected/unforeseen risk for a possible loss of the electrical service while repairs are being performed. If loss of electrical service occurs, the buildings on the attached list will experience a loss of entire electrical service until power can be restored. ETA of restoration would be 1 hour. If this occurs, Facilities crews will be checking building systems afterwards. Please note: for equipment such as computers, printers, copiers, lab and research equipment, or any critical pieces of equipment, departments will need to check that these are operational. If there is any facilities-related issue, please contact FIXIT at 713-743-4948.
