[CCoE Notice] Blackboard Semester Start-up for Engineering

Dear Engineering Blackboard Faculty,

Please see information below regarding your Blackboard course site(s).

Previous Semester Content
If your course was offered in a previous semester, please remember to update, delete, or hide old content before students have access to your course site.

"Best practice" is to make content unavailable until ready for use - having all of the course content available at the beginning of the semester can be overwhelming to students and cause confusion.

Student Enrollment Upload
Student enrollment uploads into Blackboard will begin Tuesday, January 11th.  Enrollments will be updated hourly after the initial upload.  All course sites except PETR and SUBS default to "available" for student access.  If you do not want your students to see content in your Blackboard course site before you are ready, you may make the course site "unavailable" to students  -  go to the Course Navigation Bar > Course Management > Customization > Properties > Make Course Available, check No > click Submit.
