[CCoE Notice] Call for Nominations: Graduate Research and Scholarship Projects (GRaSP) Day -- (Deadline: November 30, 2016)

Dear Department Chairs and Graduate Program Directors,

The Graduate School is seeking nominations for the Third Graduate Research and Scholarships Projects Day which will be on Friday, April 7, 2016.  Nominations are due to the Dean’s Office by  Friday, November 18th . This will give the committee enough time to review and submit to the Graduate School before their deadline of November 30th. I would encourage a strong participation from the College of Engineering graduate students to show case their research projects.

Dear UH Graduate Community:
The University of Houston’s Graduate School and the Provost Office are hosting the 3rd annual University-wide Graduate Research and Scholarship Projects (GRaSP) Day on Friday, April 7, 2017 at the University of Houston Student Center Theater, Ballroom & Houston Room.  This event is to showcase the breadth and depth of research and scholarship undertaken by UH graduate and professional students across disciplines, as well as to offer cross-disciplinary networking.
The GRaSP day will feature the following events and activities:
·         14 presentations by advanced graduate students across the University.  Each student will have 5 minutes to talk about his or her work using a style similar to the now ubiquitous TED Talk
·         12 -14 demonstrations in the research and scholarship areas, which main output are performance and/or visually-oriented.  Students will demonstrate/present their topics and discuss the significance of the work
·         A poster session featuring 90+ poster presentations and demonstrations by advanced graduate and professional students across the University
·         One of the initiatives associated with this day will be an award for the best scholarly publication by a graduate/professional student from our University.  These publications may include books, book chapters, journal articles, and conference proceedings
