[CCoE Notice] FW: Shut down computers for the holiday break

Good morning,

This is a final reminder to shutdown computers and electronics in your area before leaving for the holiday break.  If you've already contacted folks in your department to help shutdown the computers in your area, but still are not able to, please let me know.  I will need computer names to see if I can communicate with them via the network to shut them down remotely.

Engineering servers will be shut down the night of December 28th in anticipation of the scheduled power outage from December 29th -30th.  They will be powered back on the morning of December 31st, provided no networking or other power related issues remain unresolved.  Please let me know of any Engineering network resources that are still not available by mid-day of the 31st.

Hope everyone will have a safe holiday, and we'll see you back in January of 2016.

Good afternoon,

For those who aren't returning to campus until it reopens in January, please turn off computer equipment and electronics in your areas before leaving.  There are scheduled power blips and extended power outages throughout the holiday break that can potentially cause damage to computers and electrical devices still turned on during power outages and blips.  College server resources will still be available up until the scheduled extended power outage period forwarded to us by Ken Perlowski.  Details of server availability will be provided next week when I send a follow up reminder before the official holiday break period.
