Hello Coogs! This week's email is jam-packed with exciting events and opportunities, so be sure to keep scrolling down! Also, don't forget to check the calendar on our website<http://www.ieeeuh.org/calendar/> for upcoming events!

Non-IEEE Members

If you have not yet become an IEEE UH Branch member, be sure to do so soon! These emails, along with all the opportunities presented within, will soon disappear. You may sign up by visiting an officer in the lounge, at our next general meeting, or on our website<http://www.ieeeuh.org/become-a-member/>.

IEEE General Meeting

Mark your calendar, our next general meeting will be held on Wednesday, February 12th from 11:00 - 1:00 in room W122. Our guest speaker will be sponsored by Siemens. We had an excellent turnout for our last meeting, so you definitely don't want to miss our next one! As always, we will be providing free food! Be sure to wear your IEEE shirt for extra membership points.

Engineering Career Fair

This semester's career fair is next week! It will be held at the UH Hilton on Thursday, February 6th. Students who graduated Fall '13 or will graduate Spring '14 will be allowed to enter at 9:00 am. The doors open for all other students at 10:00 am and lasts until 4:00 pm. Be sure to dress in professional attire and have your updated resume uploaded to eConnection<https://eng-uh-csm.symplicity.com/students/>. Research the companies you would like to talk to ahead of time. The career fair is a good opportunity to network and pursue opportunities for internships, co-ops, and full-time jobs. It is strongly encouraged that all engineering students attend, regardless of classification and bring hard copies of your resume.

Good luck!

Study Night

This semester's first study night will be held tonight in the lounge from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Come get your study on with us and enjoy some free snacks and membership points! These will be held bi-weekly, so the next one will be held on Tuesday, February 18.

IEEE Movie Night (RSVP)

IEEE Movie Night with AICHe & SWE will be held on Wednesday, February 12th at 7:00 pm, which is the same day as our next general IEEE meeting. We will be showing the movie Inception at the new UC Theater.

If you plan on attending, please RSVP via this Google Doc<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Amtq7ucEtaZ7dHlxVDV2M1RJcjFKNDJldXZReURCbnc&usp=sharing>.

Chili Cook Off T-shirt Design Contest

Time is running out to submit your t-shirt design for the cook off! The deadline for submissions is next week!. Be sure to check out our Facebook<https://www.facebook.com/groups/ieeeuh/> page to see the current submissions (most of which are horrible!). The winning design will also receive (in addition to bragging rights) a $25 gift card. Design only includes the front and should include the text, "35th Annual IEEE Chili Cook Off". Also, please limit the design to three colors maximum. Good luck!

Chili Cook Off (Volunteers Needed!)

Our 35th Annual IEEE Chili Cook Off will be held on Thursday, March 6th. That's immediately before Spring Break and it is going to be wonderful! There will be plenty of free chili (surprise!), free beer (for those with a valid ID), a hot dog eating contest (with an awesome trophy on the line), a robotics competition, a chili competition, and many other great activities that other student organizations are bringing to the table. Also, there will be company representatives from major companies in attendance, so this will be a good socializing/networking opportunity for you.

We need several volunteers to help us with the cook off. If you are interested in volunteering, please sign up via this Google doc.<https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Amtq7ucEtaZ7dGNTUFNIek1yeGw5QzZVZXhfdTVXZ2c&usp=sharing>
