As you noticed around 9:30am today, we had a blip due to an eminent emergency at the Cougar Feeder 1 - there was smoke coming from the feeder at manhole near Engineering Building #579. When technicians opened up the manhole, the water in the manhole was boiling. The blip was to move everyone to feeder 2 to avoid a blow out of Cougar 1. We had to turn off the feeder to make repairs to the splice. Cougar Village1 will be without power until the repairs are completed, since it does not have a dual source of power. We try to give everyone advance notice, and usually are able to, but in this case there was a concern about safety. We do apologize and hope you understand. We will notify everyone once repairs are completed. The HVAC will not be impacted. If your building still does not have power please contact Customer Service.
