Sent on Behalf of Dean Tedesco
Dear CCE Faculty and Staff,
After nearly five years of meritorious service as Associate Dean of Research and Administration, Dr. Fritz Claydon will transition to faculty duties in his home department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I would like to thank him for his exemplary service and leadership.
I have formed a search committee that has broad representation from all the departments and will recommend, from within our college, candidates for the new Associate Dean of Research and Facilities. The Associate Dean will : (1) represent the Cullen College of Engineering interests at the UH Division of Research, State of Texas, and the Federal Government; (2) facilitate and catalyze formation of competitive research teams within the college to secure large state and federal grants; (3) interpret University policies pertaining to research, and ensure compliance of the requisite regulations; (4) lead efforts to procure, maintain and administer research facilities; (5) advise the college on broad national and international research agendas; and (6) foster research initiatives with industry.
The search committee consists of Pradeep Sharma (Chair), Michael Harold, Kaspar Willam, Elebeoba May, May Feng, and Stuart Long. All tenured full professors are eligible to apply. Interested candidates are requested to submit a cover email and a detailed curriculum vitae to the search committee chair (psharma at uh.edu<mailto:psharma at uh.edu>) with cc to Kitty Karson (kkarson at uh.edu<mailto:kkarson at uh.edu>). The deadline for application is 8th of March.
Meanwhile, in the interim period, Michael Harold has graciously agreed to fulfill the critical duties of the associate dean of research and facilities.
