You are invited to attend and participate in what promises to be a very special event-the November 9 UH Megatrend Future Day.  The College of Engineering , with nine other UH colleges, is partnering with the Bertelsmann Foundation<http://www.bertelsmann-stiftung.de/cps/rde/xchg/bst_engl/hx.xsl/index.html>, a not-for-profit dedicated to driving social change, to learn about and discuss the six Megatrends that are shaping our future.  The Megatrends are featured in Bertelsmann's recently published thought-provoking book Megatrends in Global Interaction.  The UH Future Day will include a special focus on energy and natural resources.

The UH Future Day event-the largest to be held in North America-includes a morning panel discussion on energy and natural resources with experts from academia, government, industry, and global consulting. Following a lunch with UH keynote speaker Dr. Joseph Pratt, expert in the history of the petroleum industry, the UH Policy Debate Team will debate the role of federal and state government in bridging the gap between the growing demand for energy and energy production. I would  like to have good representation from Engineering as we will definitely be looking to our audience for input to the discussion.
The event is scheduled from 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. (7:30-8:30 a.m. breakfast and registration) includes lunch, and will be held in the Waldorf Astoria Ballroom, UH Hilton.

Paid parking is available at the UH Welcome Center or UH Hilton.
