Dear Engineering Faculty,
Last week, you received the email below regarding the use of "clickers" in your Spring 2013 classes. Jennifer Bernardi is placing an order for "Instructor Kits" tomorrow (Friday afternoon) - if you think you might be interested in trying this tool, please let me by 12:00 noon tomorrow, and a kit will be ordered for you. A kit can always be ordered later, but delivery sometimes takes several weeks.
"Clickers" are part of the Turning Point Student (audience) Response System - a tool used to promote student interactivity, assess knowledge, and gather feedback during class. Many instructors feel clickers are an especially helpful tool when used in large classes. More information about this tool is available at http://www.turningtechnologies.com/.
Thank you,
Debbie

To: blackboard at uh.edu<mailto:blackboard at uh.edu>
The UH bookstore needs to know if you are going to require students to purchase clickers for your Spring courses. Go to http://uh.bncollege.com and click on the Faculty tab.
This information is used by the bookstore to order and stock the appropriate number of clickers, as well as to let students know of the need for a clicker.
Clickers are part of the Turning Point Student Response System used at UH to increase student interactivity in face-to-face classes.
If you have any questions about using clickers, contact the instructional designers in your College or in Faculty Development and Instructional Support. See http://www.uh.edu/fdis/id/teams/index.php for a list of instructional designers.
