*DOD Engagement Opportunity: AFOSR Announces 60th Anniversary Conference on
October 12 in Washington, D.C. *

The Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFOSR), the Air Force’s basic
and applied research arm, has announced a conference to celebrate its
60thanniversary on October 12 in Arlington, VA. The conference, “A
Force of
Discovery: 60 Years of Air Force Basic Research,” will bring together Air
Force and DOD science and technology (S&T) leadership along with the
industry and academic communities to outline future steps AFOSR and DOD
will take to address critical basic research challenges affecting the Air
Force. This event will be a great opportunity for the academic community
to engage with DOD S&T leaders and staff to build relationships and provide
input on future AFOSR research objectives.

AFOSR has not announced the official agenda yet. Registration is not
currently open, but interested parties can register on the conference’s
site to be notified when registration opens. That information along with
some general background about the conference can be found at
https://community.apan.org/afosr/afosr_60th_anniversary/default.aspx.
Lewis-Burke will continue to monitor this opportunity and provide an update
when more information becomes available.

Additional information about AFOSR and its research priorities can be found
at http://www.wpafb.af.mil/afrl/afosr/. AFOSR’s current broad agency
announcement (BAA) detailing funding interests across a range of scientific
disciplines can be found at
