I've had a slightly different experience on my Mac. When I am on campus, no problem. And from off campus, if I come in through the VPN, again there is no problem. But from off campus without the VPN, the login takes a very long time…about 2 1/2 minutes the last couple of times. In fact, I only discovered accidentally that it would indeed work when I left the program alone while working on another computer.
JR, give it a try from home.
John, any thoughts on that?

Having not attended any training sessions, I am not sure what all the client can do, but a quick test of calling home from my office just now worked fine. i.e., I was able to launch the Lync client on my Mac, and make local phone calls.
