WHAT: Info Session on REU Program, Nanotechnology and Materials System at Texas A&M
WHEN: THIS Friday (2/18) at 2 p.m.
WHERE: Room 212L in the Honors College
The REU offers students opportunities for faculty-mentored research in multi-functional nano-material systems. The 10-week program will be held at the College Station, TX campus of Texas A&M University from May 31 through August 8, 2011. Participants are provided with round-trip airfare (for those very far), room & board, stipend, graduate school preparation workshops, GRE prep course, social and networking activities, and more.
Basic eligibility requirements include: U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status; sophomore, junior, or non-graduating senior status; engineering, math, computer and physical science majors; a 3.25 or higher cumulative GPA; demonstrated potential for success and an interest in pursuing graduate study. The REU selection committee follows a comprehensive review and weighs each applicant’s academic and personal achievements, statement of interests, their two recommendation letters, preparation for research, and the availability of faculty mentors in their field of interest.
