[CCoE Notice] University Commission on Women announces awards for Distinguished Faculty Scholar and Distinguished Service to Women Awards

On behalf of the University Commission on Women, we are pleased to notify you that we are now accepting applications for three new awards that will recognize the contribution and advancement of women at UH and beyond.  The categories are:

1.     The Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award that will recognize a pre-tenure and post-tenure faculty member who has amassed (or is in the process of developing) a solid record of scholarly activity that is making an impact in their respective discipline.

2.    The Distinguished Service to Women Award for Staff and Student.   The staff and student award will be given to recognize their commitment and contribution in the advancement and support of women.

As this is our first year to offer the awards , we need your help in distributing the award announcement and application to your faculty, staff, and students, encouraging them to apply.   Attached is the award call. We will be attaching this to various websites (UCW, Faculty Senate, HR, and the Provost's website) and communicating through our listserves.  There will be a monetary award that will be presented at an appropriate venue, at a faculty, staff or student event.  We also know that your personal contact with potential nominees is  important in recruiting a competitive application pool. You may simply forward this message and/or attach the award call to your website or other emails.
