First, we are trying to negotiate with the City a different date and time, but I want you to have early notice in case we are not successful.
We just got notice that the City of Houston is proposing to close the water valves located on Wheeler at Scott and Cullen along with the valves along Cullen at N MacGregor Way and Elgin to accommodate construction on Wheeler. The service loss will impact the Cougar Place housing, Public Safety, UCCC buildings, the apartment complex at the southwest corner of Wheeler and Cullen, and the properties along Cullen. However, the proposed service loss would also include Entrance 14, which feeds most buildings on the west side of the campus core. Shutting off the feed from Cullen shuts off the water to this area completely. These buildings serviced by Entrance 14 include:
Moores School of Music
Science Center
Science and Research 1 & 2
Science and Engineering Research Center
Science and Engineering Classroom Building
University Center Satellite
Social Work Building
Arnold Hall
Hoffman Hall
