Abstract
This study deals with deteriorating inventory systems (i.e., perishable products), in which demand is influenced by selling price and allocated shelf space. The proposed model incorporates a recycle/remanufacturing policy that contributes to a green supply chain. A stochastic model is designed in order to increase the net profit of a retailer. The constraints in the model are backroom storage capacity and allocated shelf-space. The net profit includes revenues associated with sales and recycling/remanufacturing costs. In the current competitive environment, the findings of this study are particularly helpful to a multi-product retailer of perishable products in determining the allocation of shelf-space, selling prices, ordering, and recycling quantities of the stocked brands. Analysis, development, and implementation of an inventory management system that ensures product flow seamlessly in a retailer's supply chain is the root of this research.
