for the new MAES year and don't know how to? Simply contact an officer

this newsletter!

Familia! MAES will be attending the New Student Orientation for incoming
freshmen of Fall 2022. In the sign up form above, there will be dates that
we are attending. Please sign up and spread the word! There are 2 slots
available for each day. You will need your UH ID to enter the facility.

Interested candidates are invited to apply online at
http://www.icpdprograms.org.

The mentoring and professional development program will begin with a 5-day
training session in Philadelphia, (September 22 – 26, 2018). Participants
will also attend the major medical technology industry conference, *The
MedTech Conference*.  The application deadline for these fellowships is
June 1st.  *Successful student applicants will receive fellowships in the
7-year-old program SMDP MedTech and virtually all expenses for this
one-year program are covered.*

Ethnically diverse undergraduate and graduate students in engineering and
technical  disciplines are invited to apply, including Hispanic Americans,
Pacific Islanders, African Americans and Native American.

SMDP MedTech was developed to bring more diversity to the medical
technology and consumer healthcare workforce by pairing diverse Scholars
with industry mentors from leading medical technology companies.  During
the week of training in Philadelphia, SMDP MedTech Scholars will meet with
their mentors, learn about career opportunities in industry and receive
career development coaching.  SMDP is supported by leading  companies
including J&J Medical Devices, Medtronic, Millipore, B. Braun. EMD
Millipore, Amgen and Johnson & Johnson Consumer Healthcare.

As part of the program, Scholars and their mentors create strategic plans
for the student’s careers, which they implement over the course of the year
following the training session.  The mentor-mentee teams communicate
regularly by phone, email and virtually, aided by ICPD staff and the
internet-based SMDP Mentoring Portal.
