[UH-PROMES] Need students from identified groups to participate in high visibility competition with corporate contributors on Oct. 15th

Hello everyone,

You have an opportunity to participate with corporate representatives from companies that donate 5 million dollars or more to UH.  Each one of the companies have identified groups they wish to partner with.  The event is called Leadership Games which will occur from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, on Wednesday, Oct. 15th.  I assume they are looking for students with good GPAs and leadership, though the definition of that can be flexible.  Any rate whoever we recommend will have to be pretty sure they can attend.  We need to send our recommendations off by Monday afternoon.

We want to have at least 2 students and 1 standby from each of the targeted groups.  I cannot stress how advantageous this opportunity can be for the participants and their organizations.  I would expect the officers of these groups would want to make sure they have solid members to represent them.  For all who are interested and can make a commitment to participate, please send  your resume, unofficial transcript, and the groups you could/would represent.

The companies who asked us for students and the students groups they want to participate with are:

BP America - SHPE (Society of Hispanics Professional Engineers)

ConocoPhillips - PROMES Engineering workshop facilitators

ExxonMobil - PROMES STEP Forward camp counselors

Halliburton - SES (Subsea Engineering Society)

Schlumberger - AICHE (American Institute of Chemical Engineers)

Shell - SWE (Society of Women Engineers)

Title the email: Participant for the Leadership Games on Oct. 15th.  We expect to give you an answer back by this Tuesday when we send our list in to the event coordinator.
