Dover Energy is offering a chance for up to 30 PROMES students to receive training related to Continuous Improvement and Industry Best Practices.  Students can be from any discipline of engineering but must be available to attend an event at the Woodlands on May 21 from 1-3:15 PM.  At that event you will have a great opportunity to network with global Dover employees who will be in town for the conference.  See the information below.

Hi Kathy,

Dover Energy ( a segment of Dover Corporation : www.dovercorporation.com<http://www.dovercorporation.com>) is holding its annual Continuous Improvement Fair at the Woodlands Resort & Conference Center from May 19-22, 2014.  We expect to have about 300 attendees from all over North America, Europe and Asia to discuss and celebrate strategies and achievements in continuous improvement. The conference offers an exceptional opportunity to see world class techniques in action at a Fortune 500 global company and network with industry leaders in the oil and gas supply chain. Dover Energy has plants globally including many in the greater Houston area and other parts of Texas.

As part of that event from May 21 in the afternoon from 1 to 3:15 pm we have a section of the conference to focus on service and learning. We would like to partner with the University of Houston, specifically the PROMES program and bring in 30 students to the conference. Ideally we are looking for students with an Industrial Engineering background but mechanical / electrical / chemical will work as well. Selected students will receive personalized coaching in Continuous Improvement which is a highly sought after skill in industry today.  Transportation to and back from the event to UH will be provided and other logistical support will be made available as well.
