Sorry for the late notice, but if you are on a Pell Grant and want to study abroad, you may want to attend this session.  But you have to register TODAY!

Dear UH Student,

Are you interested in exploring the Fulbright Program to fund a year abroad to study, research, or teach English?

Then plan to attend the "Fulbright Information Session for Students" to learn more about how you can become a competitive applicant. Learn about campus resources available to help get started on your application this summer.   The application cycle for 2013-2014 year abroad will open in May.  Current juniors, seniors, postbacs, graduate students  who are US citizens and permanent residents are eligible to apply.

If you plan to attend, please REGISTER by Monday so that we can prepare enough handouts and order pizza and refreshments.

Check out our recent Fulbright Fellowship grantees from UH:
2012-2013: Carminia Martinez (Mexico, Research, Anthropology) will be in the Yucatan Peninsula to witness the December 21, 2012 Mayan calendar end date.  Her research will compare how Mayan locals and New Age tourists prepare and celebrate the historic event.
2011-2012: Glenn Trujillo (Germany, English Teaching Assistantship) is in Bochum teaching middle school students English and American Culture using film.
2011-2012: Donna Huanca (Mexico, Research, Sculptural Art) is in Mexico City researching and creating sculptural art inspired by the Mexican muralist movement and indigenous textile methods.
2010-2011:  Farnoosh Fahti (Brazil, Research, Creative Writing) spent a year in Brazil for inspiration for her translation work and poetry compositions.
