Engineering, for over 15 years. He has also acted as Program Director for two notable NSF-funded programs - the Process Systems, Reaction Engineering, and Molecular Thermodynamics program, and the Particulate and Multiphase Processes program. In addition to
his long list of accolades and awards, including being a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Dr. Mountziaris has collectively both served and led 17 different professional review boards and award committees. His research interests include:
synthesis, functionalization, and applications of photonic nanocrystals; novel optical biosensors for rapid quantitative point-of-care medical diagnostics; reaction engineering and process design for sustainable fuels and chemicals production; and fluid dynamics
