<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;">I am delighted to share some exciting developments with you all as we embark on the start of the new school year. Every year we reach new heights as a college, and this year has been no exception.
From new facilities to brilliant new faculty, there is a lot to be excited about. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 11.25pt; line-height: 18pt; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;">The Cullen College has experienced significant growth over the past decade. Our student population now exceeds 3,800 and our faculty headcount has increased by 65% since 2008. In addition, our
research expenditures now exceed $30 million. What is especially noteworthy though, is that we have maintained our high standards of excellence while experiencing this tremendous growth. This year, our six-year graduation rate reached a record high of 67%,
the highest success rate in the Cullen College's history. This dedication to student success is also reflected in our commitment to diversity and inclusiveness. In fact, the American Society of Engineering Education recently recognized the Cullen College with
<a title="https://www.egr.uh.edu/news/201907/uh-cullen-college-engineering-recognized-achievements-diversity-asee" href="https://www.egr.uh.edu/news/201907/uh-cullen-college-engineering-recognized-achievements-diversity-asee">
an award</a> as part of its national Diversity Recognition Program. </span></p>
<p style="margin: 0in 0in 11.25pt; line-height: 18pt; font-family: "Times New Roman",serif; font-size: 12pt;">
<span style="font-family: "Arial",sans-serif; font-size: 10.5pt;">Our new location at UH at Katy is now officially open to the public and is currently offering both undergraduate and graduate engineering courses. This impressive new facility features 80,000
square feet of classroom, lab and studio space and is home to our new state-of-the-art capstone design studio. Starting in fall 2020, the Cullen College will offer three new engineering bachelor's degrees exclusive to our new location in Katy - construction
engineering, systems engineering and computer systems and analytics. In addition, the Cullen College will offer degrees in civil, computer, electrical, industrial and mechanical engineering through the new UH/HCC Engineering Academy, also scheduled to launch

<a title="https://www.herewego.uh.edu/" href="https://www.herewego.uh.edu/">Here, We Go capital campaign</a>. The Cullen College of Engineering set an ambitious goal of $140M as we work to elevate our national prominence, recruit and retain the best faculty
and provide a student experience that is second to none. Our alumni, industry partners and friends have stepped up during this campaign to help us raise $116,211,685, making us the only academic unit on campus to surpass the $100M mark. Your support and engagement
as board members are big parts of our success, but we aren't finished yet. We look forward to working with you to help us achieve this incredible milestone for the college. </span><span style="font-size: 14pt;"></span></p>
