<p class="x_MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">We are pleased to inform you that your department’s CAPS liaison is Dr. Marianela Dornhecker. Your liaison can be reached at 713-743-5454
or via email. We invite you to contact your liaison to consult if you have concerns about a student, or if you need guidance regarding how to refer an individual of concern to CAPS. Your CAPS liaison is also available to attend a departmental meeting to
share more information about CAPS if this is a more convenient option for you. If you have an urgent concern and your liaison is not able to respond quickly, please call our Front Desk at 713-743-5454 and ask to speak with an available CAPS Consultant on Duty.</span></p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"; background:white"> </span></p>
<p class="x_MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"; background:white">In order to provide you with timely assistance, initial appointments at CAPS are offered on a walk-in basis. If an individual
is interested in our services, they can walk in any time between 8:30 am – 4 pm, Monday – Friday at the Main campus or 8 am – 5 pm, Mondays and 1 pm – 5 pm, Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Sugar Land campus. </span><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">If
an individual is experiencing a crisis situation and needs to speak with someone immediately, they may: 1) contact CAPS at 713.743.5454 to speak to the consultant on duty during business hours or 2) walk-in to our office to meet in person with the consultant
on duty. If it is after business hours, they can call 713.743.5454 and press 2 to be connected to the after-hours counselor.</span></p>

(QPR)</span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">.
<span style="background:white">QPR is a nationally recognized suicide prevention program designed to educate persons to recognize and respond to the signs of suicidal thinking or behavior. You will learn how to ask the suicide question, how to persuade the
person to contact appropriate assistance, and how to identify referral options. </span>

<p class="x_MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman","serif"">We are also excited to share that we have added a new

location on Fridays, 11 am – 1pm at the MD Anderson library. Let’s Talk is now available 5 days a week at convenient locations across campus. Let’s Talk is a great way to consult with a CAPS’ clinician face-to-face or refer a student who may initially be hesitant
to come to CAPS or may not require traditional counseling.</span></p>
