<span style="color:rgb(80,0,80);font-size:12.8px">I am making a request on behalf of our students. Many of the students use the Career Fair as a step towards getting a job, on which they appropriately place a high priority. Some may even choose to miss a
class, despite the clear risk this involves. I cannot directly condone that value judgment. However, I can ask that you consider whether you might be willing to change the date of a quiz or other similar assessments to another day other than September 14,
if that does not significantly affect your course and its effectiveness.</span><br style="color:rgb(80,0,80);font-size:12.8px">

<span style="color:rgb(80,0,80);font-size:12.8px">If you read my careful wording here, it should be clear that all the choices are up to you. All such choices are, indeed, entirely up to you. For myself, on the days of career fairs, I have postponed a quiz
