drilling engineer, designing and following an optimum well path is of foremost </span><span style="font-size: 12pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman'; ">importance to maximize the reservoir
contact. But in reality, departure from a planned path is quite common and is
usually controlled by Geosteering. Haphazard efforts to bring the well to the
designed path create a highly tortuous well path. The tortuosity or smoothness
of a wellbore plays a pivotal role in defining the drilling difficulty of the
wellbore. In this work 3D, models utilizing smooth curves like Catenary,
Clothoid, Bezier and cubic spline were proposed. The models include survey
methods like Minimum Curvature, Balanced Tangential Survey, and Natural Curve
