She will work with the Dean, Department Chairs, and College Committees on the tenure and promotion process; provide feedback and guidance to Department Chairs in hiring new faculty; play a pivotal role in the strategic planning process for the Cullen College; assess and provide guidance on faculty equity and diversity issues; offer solutions for faculty retention issues; and ensure compliance with university and college policies across all departments and programs.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; "> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; ">Prior to her promotion, Roshawnda served as Assistant to the Dean of Engineering. She joined the Cullen College in December of 2014 after serving as Assistant to the Vice President of Tallahassee Community College for seven years. Roshawnda also has extensive experience as a human resources specialist – a position she held at both Tallahassee Community College and the Florida Department of Lottery.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; "> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; ">During her nearly 10-year career at Tallahassee Community College, Roshawnda also served as an adjunct professor. She taught courses on the foundations of student development, college success, and social studies and language arts. She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Leadership and Counseling from Florida A&M University.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; "> <o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 0in 0in 0.0001pt; ">With the years of experience in higher education and leadership that Roshawnda brings to her new role, I look forward to her continued success at the Cullen College and countless contributions to our faculty, staff and students.
