This workshop aims to create a network among our minority peers, but also discuss in a friendly environment the career paths in academia. In this workshop, we will have round tables and networking activities, we will also discuss about mentoring (for faculty and students), tools for teaching in engineering, expectations in academia, places to look for funding and resources for student's scholarships, how to apply and advise students on how to apply for graduate schools, etc... We will be inviting people not only from UH but also Rice and TSU. So, there will be a lot of networking going on!</div><div style="font-family: Consolas; font-size: medium; "><br></div><div style="font-family: Consolas; font-size: medium; ">Besides the workshop participants, we also would like to invite all the Engineering faculty for lunch on the last day of the workshop (Friday, June 5th) to network with all of us and to show your support to female and minorities in academia.
