We have been working hard to implement the recent legislative requirement and we have begun the process for all Active PEs. As a member of one of the TBPE Advisory Committees, you probably work with one or more PEs that will need to have a CHRC prior to their license renewal and we wanted to make sure you and your staff are aware of the requirements. Notices regarding the CHRC will be sent directly to each licensee. However, in your capacity as an Advisory Committee member, we wanted to share the information with you as well.</span><o:p></o:p></p><p><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>The CHRC is a one-time process that will need to be completed in advance of each licensee’s renewal date. We want to start this process now so that it isn't an issue by the time of renewal. There is a one-time associated fee of $41.45 that each applicant will pay for fingerprint processing. Instructions, links, and a FAQ are available on our website's Criminal History Record Check page:<a href="http://engineers.texas.gov/recordcheck">http://engineers.texas.gov/recordcheck</a>.</span><o:p></o:p></p><p><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>In addition, the state vendor for the CHRC, MorphoTrust, offers a service for on-site fingerprinting if the group size meets the criteria. The file attached provides contact information and criteria. On-site fingerprinting does not affect the registration requirement or the associated cost.</span><o:p></o:p></p><p><span style='font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'>Just for your information, the ORI (agency number) is unique to each agency requiring a criminal history records check.
