Commonly used for applications such as access control and theft prevention, the knowledge base for RFID is substantial and the cost of applying it has dropped. These factors have lead to the increased use of RFID technology within the Oil and Gas business. In this presentation, I will start by giving a brief introduction to Weatherford International. From there, I will discuss the practical uses for RFID technology within the oil and gas business. Then, I will share some examples of cutting-edge applications of RFID technology citing recent field trials on the North Slope of Alaska. I will conclude by sharing my best guess of where RFID technology will go in the future of the oil and gas business.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'><b><span style='font-size:14.0pt'>Biosketch<o:p></o:p></span></b></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:14.0pt'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-align:justify'><span style='font-size:14.0pt'>David Brunnert has over 20 years of experience in the development and commercialization of innovative products for the oil and gas industry. He graduated from West Point in 1989 with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering and earned a Master of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Houston in 1999. He is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas, and holds over 20 patents. In 2011 he joined the Engineering Leadership Board at the Cullen College of Engineering. He is currently responsible for managing the Drilling Tools and Intervention Services Product Lines for Weatherford globally.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"'><o:p> </o:p></span></p></div></body></html>
