At its center is a state-of-the-art clean room equipped with tools for nano/micro device prototyping and characterization. As part of the Division of Research, it is available to faculty and students from all departments as well as researchers and businesses outside UH. The capabilities it offers to faculty, along with the partnerships it will facilitate with other institutions and industry, will help the university call attention to our new status as a Tier One research institution.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'><b>The Benefits of a Nanofabrication Facility<o:p></o:p></b></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>• The Houston area is a major hub for nanotechnology. This facility will further establish UH as a major source of nanotechnology research and innovation while sparking collaborations with the region’s nanotech community.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>• Few institutions can boast the capabilities of this nanofabrication facility, making it an important regional resource for academia and industry.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>• The addition of such an advanced facility also makes UH more attractive to new faculty, helping draw outstanding researchers to the university.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-autospace:none'>• The Nanofabrication Facility gives more faculty members access to more equipment. Having the high-tech capabilities offered by this equipment can help faculty win new research grants.
