<br>The 2010-2011 University of Houston Teaching Excellence Awards have been expanded from <span style="font-weight: bold;">$47,000 last to $247,000</span> this year. Please take the time to nominate your best Faculty. The deadline for nominations is <span style="font-weight: bold;">November 12, 2010</span>. This year, applications are being solicited in nine categories: <br>
<br>1. Collaborative Group Awards: $30,000 for groups of 4 or more.<br>2. Distinguished Leadership in Teaching Excellence: $15,000 to individual and $10,000 to host Department.<br>3. Career Award: $12,000 to tenure or tenure track faculty at UH for at least 5 years.<br>
4. University Teaching Excellence Awards: $8,000 each to tenure or tenure track faculty at any level.<br>5. Provost Core Awards: $8,000 each to tenure or tenure track faculty teaching in Core Classes.<br>6. Instructor/Clinical Teaching Excellence Awards: $8,000 each to any non-tenure track faculty.<br>
7. Innovation in Teaching Awards: $8,000 each to tenure or tenure track faculty.<br>8. Community Engagement Awards: $8,000 each to any full time faculty engaged in service learning.<br>9. Teaching Assistant Awards: $3,500 each to graduate teaching assistants or fellows.<br>
<br>It is anticipated that two Collaborative Group Awards, one Distinguished Leadership and one Career Award will be presented. The number of awards presented in the other categories will depend on the number and quality of applications for each award. Details of each award and nomination forms are available on the Provost web page, under Teaching Excellence Awards.<br>
