students continue to stand out among their peers. Recently, our students
brought home four first-place wins at state and regional competitions. The IEEE
Robotics team, the Concrete Canoe team and the Chem-E Car team each
captured first at their respective regional competitions. UH engineering
students also won the Texas VEX Robotics Competition. We are extremely
proud of these students and their faculty advisors for representing UH well
throughout the region. The results of these competitions demonstrate the
quality education our students are receiving at the Cullen College.

Zhu Han, both assistant professors of electrical and computer engineering,
received a National Science Foundation CAREER Award. This award is one of
the most prestigious honors given to junior faculty. Join me in
