[CCoE Notice] Important new requirement for faculty

Dear Cullen College Faculty:

This is a heads up.

There is now a new requirement for faculty to keep track of and report in the classes you teach, namely, the "Academic Activity Submission."

For explanation, please see the email below that was sent to all the faculty teaching in the summer. The fall faculty will receive a similar notice from the UH Registrar very soon. I am writing now to just give you an advance heads up, so that you may plan your fall syllabus and fall course activities accordingly.

Good afternoon,

This email is to inform you of changes to the Grade Roster in Faculty Center, in compliance with federal regulations, effective Summer 2024. Instructors will be prompted to enter the date of the last academic activity for entry of either grade “F” (failing) or “U” (unsatisfactory) and will require a Grade Reason. The selections include Completed the Term, Never Attended and Stopped Attending. 

If a student Stopped Attending, a date is required for the entry. Students who receive an “I” (incomplete) grade, will populate a Grade Reason and instructors are required to enter the date of their last academic activity.
