[CCoE Notice] REMINDER: Grants to Enhance and Advance Research (GEAR)

Dear Cullen College of Engineering Faculty,



As you may already know, the announcement for the Grants to Enhance and Advance Research (GEAR) internal awards has been posted:

The deadline to submit proposals to the College is 5 pm on November 3, 2023. Submission instructions:


  1.  submit your proposal via email as a pdf to: egrgrant at central.uh.edu<mailto:egrgrant at central.uh.edu> using the following naming convention for the pdf: Lastname_GEAR2024_Preproposal
  2.  use the attached cover page
  3.  your preproposal must include the following elements along with the cover page: (a) Proposal Narrative (up to 3 pages inclusive of illustrations and tables, font no less than 10 pt with 1 inch margins, 1.5 spacing), PIs 2-pg NSF biosketches, PIs NSF current & pending, and your budget using the UH budget template and with review from our internal RA team.
  4.  Forward your budgets for review by 5:00 pm on October 27, 2023 to egrgrant at central.uh.edu
