[CCoE Notice] A note to instructors about the Spring 2023 Career Fair

To the Instructors in Engineering,

The Engineering Career Fair is taking place on Thursday, February 9 from 10 AM to 3 PM.

The Career Fair is an increasingly important day in the academic calendar for our students.  Attending the career fair is often the first step in securing internships, co-op positions, and also permanent employment upon graduation. And as our enrollment has grown, correspondingly, the traffic at the Career Fair has also become busy enough that students very likely end up missing all classes between 9 AM and 4 PM. For these reasons, I am making the following request to all of you:

  1.  Please make every effort to provide alternative learning opportunities for the course material that is covered on February 9. Making available a recording of the class lecture of that day would be a great way to help our students.
  2.  In addition, please make every effort to avoid having tests, quizzes, or other assessments on that day (February 9).  Your students will be very grateful and appreciative, if given this consideration.
