This email serves to welcome you back and introduce/re-introduce the team in the Sponsored Research Office (SRO) in our College and to provide you with updated procedures for proposal submissions and communicating with the team. Please save this email for future reference.

Emails sent to this inbox are checked continuously throughout the day each day seven days a week including holidays so please cc this inbox in your communications with our SRO especially for critical matters requiring immediate attention.

SRO procedures:
Our community has grown and so have your needs for support. Please follow the simple guidelines listed below.

  *   All submissions of any kind (industry, private sector, foundation, sub-recipient, federal, consortium, center/institute, internal submission) must go through our office first.
  *   Email egrgrant at central.uh.edu as soon as you consider a submission and provide the funding opportunity in your email and the submission deadline. Your submission will be placed on the SRO calendar and assigned to an RA (Research Administrator) in our office [communicating this information directly to an RA is fine, however, we may re-assign your submission depending on workload considerations in our office]. The assigned RA will contact you to request further information and establish a timeline for the receipt of materials for the submission. Please be prepared to complete the attached transmittal form for your submission.
  *   If you receive communication from a sponsor where our RAs are not copied, please alert the team ASAP especially if there are action items with due dates. We will follow up on your behalf with the Division of Research as needed.
  *   You are especially encouraged to allow a minimum of 2 weeks prior to the submission deadline for UH-team proposals and 4 weeks for multi-institutional proposals where UH is lead.
  *   While our office can accommodate shorter notification windows, a thorough review of materials may not be possible, in which case you assume the risk of ensuring error-free timely submissions.
Our team is here to assist you. They will respond to each email. If you have not received a response within 2 working days or you require a shorter response time, please email me directly and cc egrgrant at central.uh.edu and I will assist.
