[CCoE Notice] Canvas Transition

Engineering Faculty and Staff,

As you know UH announced the adoption of Canvas as the LMS for the University of Houston. This will replace the current Blackboard LMS that you have been using for years now. By the Summer 2023 and Fall 2023 all courses will be taught in Canvas.

There will be a Soft Launch in Spring 2023 and it will have a limited number of participants, while most courses will continue to be taught in Blackboard during the Spring 2023 semester. We asked Engineering instructors to volunteer to test out the new LMS this Spring but the deadline to sign up was last Friday (10/21). Everyone who completed the form will be notified whether they are selected for the Soft Launch. Training for those that are selected for the soft launch will be coming up November 10 & 11 (FDIS Calendar (uh.edu)<https://eitapps.uh.edu/calendar?month=11&year=2022>. View dates to register.



Training for the rest of the faculty, not participating in the soft launch, will be trained toward to end of the Spring 2023 semester and during the Summer months.
