[CCoE Notice] eye wash station usage

Good afternoon engineering community,

The City of Houston has issued a boil water notice for the main water system. The boil water notice is in effect for the entire city, including the University of Houston- Main Campus. This may or may not affect the safe usage of your emergency eye wash station if present.  Please consider using a continuous flow of bottled water as a temporary solution if hazardous agents are manipulated and a minor splash to the eye(s) occurs.  If the emergency eye wash station must be used during the boil water notice period, please follow your emergency procedures which include contacting your primary care physician, afterward usage, to give details of the hazardous agent.

At this time, the City expects the boil water notice to be lifted sometime on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. EHS will provide updates as they become available.  Please feel free to contact EHS with any questions at ehs at uh.edu<mailto:ehs at uh.edu> or 713-743-5858.
