DEADLINE EXTENDED: Apply to the 2021 SURF Program by Wednesday, March 24th

If you are a current freshman, sophomore, junior, consider applying to the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship. SURF is a full-time research program that allows you to work with a UH faculty mentor over 10 weeks (June 2-August 4, 2021). Projects may be carried out remotely or on campus. Selected students are awarded $4,000 and participate in a virtual weekly lecture series, and will present their research at Undergraduate Research Day in April 2022. Apply to the 2021 Houston Early Research Experience (HERE) Program by Friday, March 12th

The Houston Early Research Experience (HERE) is a two-week workshop intended to orient rising sophomore and junior undergraduates to the fundamentals of conducting research. Students from all majors with a GPA of 3.5 or greater are encouraged to apply. HERE students receive a $1K scholarship for their involvement, as well as an invitation to apply for the Houston Scholars program<https://uh.edu/honors/undergraduate-research/scholarships/houston-scholars/> in the fall semester. The Fall 2021 PURS Application is now open! Apply by April 9th

The Provost's Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PURS) program provides talented UH juniors and seniors with the opportunity to participate in a semester-long research project under the direction of a UH faculty mentor. Recipients will receive a $1,000 scholarship to conduct a one-semester research project with their faculty members. All full-time UH faculty members are eligible to participate as faculty sponsors and may nominate up to two students for the scholarship. Apply to the 2021-2022 Action Research in Communities (ARC) Program by May 1st

ARC offers exceptional undergraduates with opportunities to conduct faculty-mentored action research based on service projects in the Greater Houston Community. This program allows students to focus on research stemming from past or current service projects they have participated in. Service projects can be in any field and students from all majors are welcome to apply. ARC Fellows receive a $1,500 scholarship split between the fall and spring semesters in the program. ARC faculty mentors receive a $300 stipend. Fellows are eligible to apply for implementation grants of up to $750 to turn their research into action to serve the community.



Eligible candidates must meet the following criteria:

  *   be a rising sophomore, junior, or senior at the University of Houston main campus
  *   possess at least a 3.0 GPA
  *   not be enrolled in a post-baccalaureate, graduate, or professional program
  *   have a full-time UH faculty mentor
