The Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards invites you to learn more about the responsible conduct of research from Dr. Stuart Long. Dr. Long is a Moores Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Research and the Honors College. Attendees will hear about common errors in conducting research that lead to ethical questions and will have the opportunity to ask questions.

16th Annual Undergraduate Research Day Call for Posters

Poster Submission Deadline: Monday, March 1, 2021

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards is accepting posters and abstracts for the 16th Annual Undergraduate Research Day, which will take place virtually on Thursday, April 1st. Students must use a UH Branding-approved poster template<https://uh.edu/honors/undergraduate-research/about/undergraduate-research-day/undergraduate-poster-templates/> and submit their abstract, poster, and optional video link no later than Monday, March 1st. Houston Early Research Experience (HERE)

Application Deadline: Friday, March 12, 2021

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards is accepting applications for the 2021 Houston Early Research Experience (HERE) program. The application deadline is Friday, March 12, 2021. From August 2-13, 2021, the HERE program will introduce rising sophomores and juniors with at least a 3.5 GPA to research, covering topics such as research ethics, methodologies, and design. The 2021 theme for HERE is Inequality: Creating a More Equitable Houston. HERE participants receive a $1,000 scholarship and an invitation to apply to the Houston Scholars program. Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF)

Application Deadline: Friday, March 12, 2021

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards is accepting applications for the 2021 Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) program. The application deadline is Friday, March 12, 2021. Students who will be enrolled full-time as sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the fall with least a 3.0 GPA are eligible to apply. Prior SURF participants may not apply. SURF is a full-time, faculty mentored research opportunity which awards a $4,000 scholarship during the summer. Provost’s Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PURS)

Application Deadline for Fall 2021: Friday, April 9, 2021

The Office of Undergraduate Research and Major Awards is accepting applications for the Provost's Undergraduate Research Scholarship (PURS) program for Fall 2021. The application deadline is Friday, April 9, 2021. All full-time juniors and seniors with at least a 3.0 GPA, who have not previously participated in the PURS program, are eligible to apply. The PURS is a part-time, faculty mentored research opportunity which awards a $1,000 scholarship for the Fall 2021 semester.
